Moody Story Time Visits

Helping Children Build a Coping Skills Toolbox
Stories have the power to help children understand themselves, connect with others, and make sense of big feelings.
Moody Story Time Visits combine engaging stories, practical coping skills, and take-home resources that help children build emotional awareness and confidence.
Each visit is designed to give children simple tools they can use when feelings start to feel overwhelming—at school, at home, and in everyday life.
What Happens During a Visit?
Every Moody Story Time Visit includes:
📚 An Engaging Story
Children are introduced to age-appropriate stories that encourage conversations about emotions, relationships, and resilience.
💗 A Practical Coping Skill
Students learn a simple coping strategy they can use when feelings become difficult to manage.
🖍️ A Take-Home Resource
Each child receives a resource designed to help reinforce the skill and continue the conversation beyond the visit.
Building a Coping Skills Toolbox
Throughout the program, children learn practical tools that support emotional regulation and self-awareness.
🩷 Box Breathing
A simple breathing technique that helps children slow down, refocus, and calm their minds and bodies.
💜 Grounding Through Touch
Children learn how sensory awareness and touch can help them stay connected to the present moment.
🩵 Cool Down Tools
Students discover ways to use temperature and body-based coping strategies to help calm intense emotions.
💚 Grounding With Your Senses
Children practice noticing what they see, hear, feel, and smell to help bring their attention back to the present.
Each coping skill is reinforced through discussion, hands-on activities, and take-home resources that help children continue practicing what they learn.
