Helping Kids Make Sense of Big Feelings

Big feelings can be confusing - for kids and for the adults who love them.

My Moody Monster was created to help children identify, express, and cope with emotions like anger, sadness, fear and frustration through play. Moody isn’t about fixing feelings or pushing them away. They’re about making space for emotions, starting conversations and reminding kids that all feelings are allowed.

Moody is a soft, approachable companion designed to support emotional awareness, connection, and communication - whether at home, in classrooms or in therapeutic and community settings.

Why Moody Exists

Moody exists because emotional literacy isn’t something children are born knowing - it’s something they learn through experience, modeling and safe connection.

For many kids, words don’t come easily when emotions are big. Moody gives them another way in. Through storytelling, play and imagination, children can explore what they’re feeling at their own pace, without pressure.

Moody doesn’t diagnose, label or replace professional support. They simply offer a gentle place to start.

Created by Jen Ginty

My Moody Monster was created by Jen Ginty, a mom and creative entrepreneur who saw firsthand how hard it can be for children to talk about what’s going on inside.

Born from lived experience rather than textbooks, Moody was designed to feel friendly, non-judgmental and emotionally safe. Jen’s goal has always been simple: to create something that helps kids feel less alone with their feelings - and helps adults know how to show up alongside them.
