Moody Story Time: I Choose to Calm My Anger by Elizabeth Estrada

Today's Moody Story Time focuses on small ways to help cope when we are angry and frustrated. So many things that happen during the day can make us grumpy and maybe a little forgetful of other's feelings.

This boy's friend Liam (I have a son named Liam!) helps him to calm his grumpy feelings by using mindfulness and focusing on breathing. Included is a great coping skill for in the moment breathing. We try it and like it!

Note: I’ve received comments that some books are not being suitable for all audiences including children with ADHD and autism. Because not all books are for all children, these coping skills may not work for every child. Focusing and calming mind and body can be very hard for children with these diagnoses, as well as for other kids. Reading this book is not meant to say that ALL children can handle their emotions the same way because EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.
